How to Get an RTR License in India: Step by Step
Step 1: Check the current rules
Open the official notification for the RTR(A) exam and note eligibility, fees, exam centres and dates. Rules are updated from time to time, so never rely on old posts.
Step 2: Apply on the official portal
Create your profile, upload documents and pay the fee as per the notice. Keep a copy of your application and payment receipt.
Step 3: Prepare for Part 1 written
Study chapter by chapter. Use our Part 1 question bank to find weak areas and read the explanation for every answer.
Step 4: Prepare for Part 2 practical
Speaking is a skill. Practise full flights aloud in the Part 2 simulator, then book a live mock test to feel exam pressure before the real day.
Step 5: Appear and collect the certificate
Carry your admit card and ID. After you clear both parts, follow the official process to receive your certificate.
Tips
- Practise a little every day instead of cramming
- Always read back clearances, runways, levels and QNH
