About this VERP–VOBL RTR Part 2 question paper

This is DGCA RTR Part 2 practical exam paper 01: a flight from Raipur (VERP) to Bengaluru (VOBL) on 01/10/2026 (Afternoon session). The scenario uses a Boeing 737-800 with callsign SEJ 2123, on route W45 W47. The flight is planned under IFR at FL340.

In the Part 2 practical test of the DGCA RTR(A) exam, you answer ATC and flight situations aloud, from ground movement to abnormal and emergency events. This paper’s 10 questions cover pushback & start-up calls, ATC & taxi clearances, a rejected take-off, runway obstructions & vehicle incursions, a bomb threat and ILS failure & approach problems.

Working through the full VERP to VOBL paper builds fluency with callsigns, frequencies and phraseology before you sit the exam. Pay special attention to rejected take-off (Q7), runway incursion (Q7) and bomb threat (Q9). There are 2 VERP to VOBL papers in the library, so compare them to see which situations come up again. Questions are shown as they appear in the paper; model answers are in the free simulator.

What this VERP to VOBL paper tests

This paper has 10 questions and follows one complete flight from Raipur (VERP) to Bengaluru (VOBL) in a Boeing 737-800, callsign SEJ 2123. 4 questions are routine operations — pushback, start-up, taxi instructions, clearances and readbacks and take-off. The other 6 turn abnormal or urgent — low visibility, weather delay, reciprocal runway, rejected take-off and runway incursion. That mix is exactly how the DGCA RTR Part 2 exam is built: standard phraseology first, then a situation that tests whether your phraseology holds up under pressure.

In the exam room, one examiner plays ATC and the situations arrive in sequence, so a detail from an early call — your stand, your runway, your level — can matter again three questions later. Work through this paper in order and out loud, and treat every call as a transmission you cannot take back. Candidates who practise complete papers end-to-end, instead of reading single questions, walk in noticeably calmer.

Where candidates lose marks in this paper

Most marks in Part 2 are not lost on knowledge — they are lost on order and completeness. The pressure points in this paper are low visibility, weather delay and reciprocal runway: students rush these calls, forget to state their intentions, or read back only half of the instruction. Examiners also notice the small things quickly — a missing callsign, the wrong station name, or a "roger" where a full readback was required.

Build three habits and this paper gets easier: address the right station before you speak, read back every clearance and instruction in full, and if you miss a frequency or a detail, ask for it instead of guessing. Then rehearse the abnormal questions aloud until the sequence — state the problem, say your intentions, make the request — feels automatic.

Get exam-ready with the VERP to VOBL paper

Set a timer. Answer the questions in order, aloud and without pausing, then review what you said.

Read the whole situation first. Decide who you are calling and what you need to say before you transmit.

Check every call. Include the station name, your callsign and the frequency on first contact, and read back what must be read back.

Rehearse the abnormal calls. Situations such as bomb threat, rejected take-off and runway incursion are easy to fumble under pressure, so repeat them until the call order feels automatic.

Know your position report. Practise giving a complete position report from the data provided, item by item, without hesitation.
